If your family is feeling unfit or unmotivated (too much corned beef?), try a new activity today. Often a small change is enough to jump-start your motivation and get you excited about exercise again. How about:
- Taking a walk or run in a new place, or swapping your sneakers for a bike or in-line skates
- Asking a friend (or your child!) to teach you his or her favorite workout
- Sampling a new class at your gym, community center, yoga studio, or martial arts dojo (many facilities offer free trials)
- Borrowing a new exercise video from your library or video store (I tried Billy Blanks Jr.'s Cardioke the other day and it was a riot!)
- Planning an active family outing: swimming, skating, bowling, golfing
