Prevent heat stroke
Hot enough for you? Where I live the summers are beautifully pleasant—not too humid and almost never too hot. (Don't get too jealous until you spend a freezing cold winter here.)
But in so many other places, summer brings stifling and even dangerous heat. About's Guide to Exercise, Paige Waehner, has some essential advice about exercising in the heat. Take note if the mercury is climbing in your area.
Kids and teens are especially susceptible to heat-related illnesses, so take extra precautions if your child is exercising outdoors these days. The number-one rule, of course? Keep that water bottle full.
