The inside scoop on youth sports

By March 5, 2012

Follow me on:

If your kids take up a sport that you  haven't played or don't know much about, you really need to rely on other families to help get you oriented. That's why I have created profiles of 22 different youth sports to give you the basics on what to expect. Each one comes with a space for tips from parents who have experience in the sport. I rely on readers to share this advice, and I invite you to help if you can. It only takes a few minutes to leave some words of wisdom, and your fellow sports moms and dads will really appreciate it. You'll find a call-out called "Readers Respond" at the bottom of each sports profile.

I've recently added profiles for cross-country running, field hockey, jump roping, and diving, so please jump in if you have tips.  I'm also always open to suggestions for more sports to add to my list. If there's one you want to know more about, just say the word!
