Definition:
Strength training increases the strength of the muscles, bones, ligaments, and tendons. Strength training also builds muscle mass, which in turns raises the metabolic rate and makes it easier to maintain a healthy weight.
Strength training exercises include resistance via the body's weight, such as in push-ups, or with equipment such as free weights, bands, tubes, or medicine balls.
