Event: National Playground Safety Week
Date: Fourth week in April
Location: Public and school playgrounds
Organizer: National Program for Playground Safety
What to do: National Playground Safety Week has three goals: to focus on children's outdoor play areas, to teach kids how to play safely, and to thank adults who work to make and keep playgrounds safe. The National Program for Playground Safety asks families to check the playgrounds where they play (see a playground safety checklist) and alert owners or authorities to any problems. NPPS also recommends brainstorming up to five playground safety rules with your children.
