I am always looking for new snack ideas to switch up our routine and add variety to my kids' diet. What are your favorite kids' snack ideas? Whether it's mid-morning, after-school, on the road, or at half-time on the playing field, what healthy snack ideas have you found? Share Your Suggestion

Cookie cutters

My 5-year-old son came up with this one: Use cookie cutters to make everyday foods more fun. He cut a plain cheese quesadilla into the shape of an airplane. Then we even customized it more by cutting out a window with a small knife. You could do this with sandwiches, pancakes, flat slices of melon, etc. etc.

Fruit and Nuts

My grandchildren all love fresh fruit of almost any kind. They also like nuts. I buy peanuts and pistachios in the shell because they are less salty and the kids have fun picking them out.

Veggie Snack

Baby carrots dipped in salsa are delicious and make a good after-school snack.

Peanut butter on apple slices

Although they usually ask for this snack right after I have just sat down, I am always happy to prepare this as it is so much healthier than packaged junk food.

Grapes!

My kids just love grapes no matter how you serve them. Typically we always have some washed grapes on the counter. Though if you freeze them and pack them in lunches they are almost slushie like!
