Podcast: Early puberty

By October 6, 2010

Follow me on:

Girls as young as 6 or 7 are showing signs of beginning puberty. Sometimes this can be associated with overweight or obesity. No matter the cause, premature puberty can cause long-lasting consequences for kids--and a healthy diet and lots of exercise can help alleviate some of those concerns. I had the chance to be part of a conversation on this topic with two leading researchers in the field, and you can listen in. Hear the podcast at BAM! Radio Network, or download it from iTunes.

People may not realize it, but there are numerous physical and social/emotional consequences to precocious puberty, of which both parents and teachers need to be aware! The experts on this interview had quite a bit of insight to offer. Thanks for being part of it, Catherine!
