Americans are a creative bunch. So the Partnership for a Healthy America issued an open call for ideas on ending childhood obesity. Applicants, including some kids, responded with ideas like smartphone apps, nutrition education programs, and more.
"The entries PHA received for the End Childhood Obesity Innovation Challenge show the exceptional creativity of each idea, and how committed Americans are to reversing this trend," said Larry Soler, President and CEO of PHA. "Great ideas can come from anywhere."
From now through February 1, 2013, you can view 2-minute videos about the 10 semifinalists, and vote for your favorite. Three finalists will then be invited to present their ideas in Washington, DC, in early March. The winner will receive $10,000 to launch their idea, plus financial, business and marketing advice from experts.
